I've been avoiding body information for a while, just accepting that I'm fat but healthy. I want to get things under control, however, and the statistics tracking in the WiiFit software are just the thing to motivate me. Real numbers, calculations, goals, and graphs. All my friends know how I feel about graphs. I'm a total math geek, and graphs are my favorite way to read information.
So, on day 1 I did my initial setup and first BMI. Then I realized I had my Wii date set to the wrong year and had to delete my save data so it would not think I skipped a year of training. My advice for first timers is this: delete your first save data! You don't get sufficient practice for what is likely an unnatural balance game. My first WiiFit age was 34, but after resetting my data, my initial score was 23. That might have shown a very skewed set of data with such an extreme decrease after only 1 day of training.
So, my balance is pretty good. Of course my BMI is less so. Over 39. This puts me into obese. My weight was 296 lbs. So, I'm heavy, but relatively fit in other areas. I set my goal for short term, 2 weeks, and for losing 3 lbs in this time. That's the most they recommend losing in 2 weeks to avoid a weight rebound.
After my setup, I did some yoga training exercises. Breathing was simple, I've mastered that years past. The crescent moon pose was a little tougher, stretching my side abdominals. Leaning right was easier than leaning left, and my balance scores showed that I had a harder time leaning left.
Then, I did some strength training. I did a set of pushup/side plank and lunges. My pushup score was 100, but apparently my left leg lung was a few points below perfect.
Total I got 8 minutes of training credits.
